Since 20 years ago my family been hired almost 5 different maids.. most of them stay with my family for about 4 years which i had a good experience with those maids especially the javanese. they are hardworking and sincere.
But recently i had different experience with indonesian maid from Jember (madura). she'd been working with me since july last year. basically i do treat maids like part of the family (which is u not suppose to). U see, we malays always keep the good relationship with every human being what more those servant who help us do the house chores and plus she is far away from the family .This maid by the name of hamidah seems like a very religious type of person, never miss her pray and always without miss recite al-quran (pretending). in fact, i also quite close to her family n relatives since we've plan to have a biz visit to her home town. i gave her a good room to stay which some of malaysian also do not have a chance to have that kind of bed n room, good clothes in fact i bought handphone for her.
But u see, no man is angle in this world. after all the trust that i've gave to her, she and my grandparent's maid ran away n stole ALL of our (mine n grandma's) precious jewelry, NOTHING left. since we gave her 1 day off, she took that opportunity to built contact and making plan to benefit them.
After all, i personally disagree to give them 1 day off and TOTALLY "NO HANDPHONE". The truth is, when u r not around at home.. she is the boss of her own.. but when you are back, she will act as if she has so much work to do. that explain the so called "WORK" from 5 a.m to 2 a.m.
